Evecase Canvas Bag for DSLR Camera | Canon 7D

The build quality is just ok. The "leather" bits are flimsy and imitation leather, but they aren't really essential to the functional design to the bag so even if they failed I don't think it would matter. But for $50, I feel like this does exactly what I need it to do.

Review for Evecase Canvas Bag.

I love this bag! It has enough space for all my equipment. The best part for me is being able to attached my tripod to the bottom. I use to never take my tripod for shoots because I had to carry separate and I would put it down and forget where I put it or it was just a pain to have to carry something extra.

Now everything is together. I haven’t taken it on a plane but I intend to. I love that I can have all my camera gear, tablet and charging stuff plus the tripod all together!! Even better is the cover that ce with it, where I travel you never know what the weather is going to be like.

I travel about once a month to shoot events, as well as do regular business-guy stuff like meetings and conferences, and I need to get in and out of airports quickly. I needed a carry on that could hold both my laptop and camera equipment in one small bag, so I got this one.

If I’m traveling with just this and a leather duffel for my clothes, I can likely get a weeks worth of travel out of just two carry on bags. Overall, I’d say this is a perfect bag for prioritizing size and convenience over carefully protecting delicate gear or carrying a lot of equipment.

Pros:

* It’s the perfect size to hold a 13″ Mac laptop, a Canon 5D Mark II with two lenses, a flash and various chargers. If you’re transporting camera gear and a laptop through an airport, this will do it perfectly and it’s still small enough to fit under your seat or in the tiniest overhead bin.

* The removable camera insert. You can pull it out and put it in any bag and turn it into a working camera bag. I have a nice saddle-leather shoulder bag I can put it in when I’m taking my camera to a business environment where I don’t want to look like a freelance photographer.

* Cost. $50 is a great value for a camera bag. I’ve had $200 bags bust zippers and seams (I’m hard on gear), so even if this falls apart in a year, I’ll have gotten my moneys worth.

* Looks. It doesn’t look like a camera bag, which is important to me. I hate looking like a tourist or a potential target for theft. This just looks like a basic messenger bag. Also, I’m not really into backpacks. I have large backpacks for camera equipment that carry more stuff, but I wouldn’t feel cool walking city streets in Europe wear them. This just looks like a regular, casual bag that I might use walking around without without camera equipment.

Evecase Canvas Bag

Cons:

* It’s not well padded – other than the camera insert and the rather flimsy laptop insert, it’s not padded at all. So be careful with your gear using it, i.e. set your stuff down GENTLY in this thing. That said, it’s not for trekking or bringing along a full blown camera package to a gig. It’s for safely transporting a computer and enough camera gear to shoot most things.

* The build quality is just ok. The “leather” bits are flimsy and imitation leather, but they aren’t really essential to the functional design to the bag so even if they failed I don’t think it would matter. But for $50, I feel like this does exactly what I need it to do.
